We have a new intern
And her name is Jenn the Intern. She is doing a great job here and we really enjoy her attitude and willingness to learn and be a part of the shop. That and getting us hot dogs @ the game.

Check out some pics of the JumpstART event here and while you’re at it, take a look @ Paul’s work. This was a fun and rewarding event, and we’re all proud to have been a part of it. Winning the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) Gold Workforce award is a great honor for us.
The CBCA Workforce Award recognizes creative investments in employee development and volunteerism.
In Stephanie Fay’s words “JumpstART was a pro bono project on steroids.” No doubt! JumpstART was a one-night art auction and celebration benefiting Arts Street, a Denver non-profit dedicated to cultivating creative thinking skills in Denver’s under-served youth. Arts Street helps kids understand how art and creativity can help them be successful and happy in life, and in work, too. ripcord put our heart and soul into this event.
“The best part,†Fay said, “is that 100% of the net proceeds for JumpstART were given to Arts Street. The event raised just under $15,000 – exceeding our wildest expectations for a first-time event. We look for meaningful ways to give back to the community each year, but in 2007 we went all out and it felt really good. We all won as a result of JumpstART.â€
Stella Yu, Executive Director of Arts Street is “thrilled,†too. “This is more than we could have dreamed of.†Yu said. “Our students will reap the benefits. A creative kid today makes for a smart workforce tomorrow and Arts Street is a connector for youth to succeed. I cannot thank ripcord enough. They deserve this award,†Yu said.
CBCA is a business member organization helping companies to leverage the arts for their innovative and creative success.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a fair-weather baseball fan and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The games have been exciting and everyone in town is talking baseball. To add to the buzz The Denver Post made these guys. I love this type of stuff, it’s fun, free and cool. Make one and tell your friends you had a brew with Matsui.

Oh, to be an account guy and get to golf and call it work. Phil hit the links with some industry folk to raise money for BMA. Every year, BMA holds fundraising events that provide scholarships for future marketers and benefits other related programs. Dave, Shaun, Ron and Phil came in second place. The team may not have won – but were clearly the best looking in the bunch.

This was a definite surprise. And just in time for a status meeting. Chris Pharo, Marketing and Sales Manager at R.W. Beck, dropped off some milk and cookies for no reason other than to say “Thanks”. Needless to say that the meeting went well. This act of kindness was so impressive, we wrote a press release.
Read the press release.
