Isn’t technology grand

January 28th, 2010

Today I attended the SIA Snow Show, a well known show for the snow sports industry being held in Denver for the first time. While the show was filled with impressive booths, one of the coolest things I came across was a sign asking visitors to log onto the SIA show app on their iphone or blackberry. So I decided to check it out.

After waiting about a minute to download the app, suddenly at my fingertips I had all kinds of information about the show. Not only did it provide me with a map of the exhibit floor, a list of exhibitors and a schedule of special events, but it also provided “special alerts” designed to draw visitors to certain booths to win things or see something special going on.

The app, created by Core-Apps, is genius in my opinion. It creates a whole new way for people to interact at tradeshows venues and allows the exhibitors an additional opportunity to lure guests to their booth. Not to mention that it’s just a downright useful tool for the user with a built in map feature. Nicely done Core-apps.
